Spend the day exploring Andean culture at FAU:

• Keynote lecture by Peruvian archeologist, professor and author Henry Tantaleán.

• Keynote lecture by Northwestern University professor of anthropology Mary Weismantel discussing her book Playing with Things: Engaging the Moche Sex Pots.

• Music and dance performance by traditional Andean performers Kuyayky

• Panel of FAU scholars’ research on the greater Andean Region: “The Manteño Civilization of Coastal Ecuador,” Valentina Martinez; “Ancient Andes in Colonial Spanish Literature,” Michael J. Horswell; “Andean roots of 20th Century Salasacan Culture,” Rachel Corr; “Contemporary Manabi Culture,” Michael Harris.

FAU-Smithsonian Exhibition: The Great Inka Road: Engineering and Empire. The exhibition will be on display in the Schmidt Center Gallery Public Space from Friday, Nov. 19 through Saturday, Feb. 26.
