Opera & Folk Songs at the Symphony
Enjoy a splendid evening of orchestral masterworks from operas to folk songs. The Florida Atlantic University Symphony Orchestra’s final concert of the 27th season will highlight selections from one of the most acclaimed operas, Georges Bizet’s Carmen, featuring FAU Professors Dr. Mitchell Hutchings, Baritone & Monica Berovides-Hidalgo, Mezzo-Soprano. This concert will also include songs from the masterwork by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Folk Songs of the Four Seasons, featuring Prof. Berovides-Hidalgo, in collaboration with the FAU Women’s Chorus, which is under the direction of Dr. Stacie Rossow. The overture from Franz von Suppe’s comical operetta Pique Dame will add the playful and lighthearted fun to the evening’s performance. The FAU Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Dr. Laura Joella.
